Murray Hill Books, LLC is a book publisher in upstate New York. We started out in 2004, and since 2006 have been publishing only the All 'Bout Cities series of city-specific alphabet books
All of our books are authored by and feature phtographs by Robin Segal, although our books are becoming ever more collaborative, and our collaborators are children. ABC in Los Angeles has a six year old coauthor and cophotographer. ABC in Tulsa is the result of an entire elementary school's collaboration. We are planning to involve entire school systems and cities as we learn to use the internet to better involve more people in books about their cities.
Starting in 2012, we are offering ebooks as well. To start with, our ebooks will resemble our print books. Later, we will add pop-up descriptions of objects in the books, aimed at older readers and travelers. We will also add additional languages to the books that now feature only one language. For example, ABC in NYC is in English only, but we would like to add Spanish, Chinese and Russian captions to all the photos.
Our goal is to increase the cities for which we have books, increase the educational value of each book, and increase the number of participants in the creation of each book.
