ABOUT THE
AUTHOR:
Robin
Segal first studied the car buying process at the Wharton
School, while working toward her Ph.D. in energy policy.
Later,
dissatisfied with most academics' understanding of how people
really choose cars, she got a job at a car dealership, intent
on studying this process up close. Dr. Segal went on to consult
for major car companies, government agencies around the world,
including the U.S. Department of Energy, The World Bank, and
the United Nations, always in the context of car markets and
people's choice of transportation alternatives.
Over
the years, Dr. Segal has observed and written about the car
buying process from many perspectives and for many audiences,
including car buyers. She has helped many people negotiate
fair deals on their cars.
Her
first book about the life inside car dealerships, COMMISSION
IMPOSSIBLE; Being a Car Salesman in Amercia, is available
on Amazon.com and from this website. Robin
Segal lives in New York City.
